Trying to put politics aside, which is difficult after listening to this interview, what I have not heard from Senator Obama is:
If he were able, as President, to shift 2-3 additional American Combat Brigades into the Afghan theater, what would they be sent there to do (specifically), and; if the military is not enough (something I agree with) what else does Senator Obama think is required in Afghanistan and how will he propose it gets done.
His other proposals so far are: far more comprehensive and high-level engagement with Pakistan involving whole of government, not just DoD; increase civilian aid to Afgh by $1 bn/year; re-engage with Iran; more to come.
